Christmas fun

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We've been doing some fun things around here - trying to keep the kids occupied inside with the cold weather we've been having! This is a picture of our gingerbread house after the girls decorated it. It's no "El Dorado" (you'd have to know Jeremy to get that) but it's darn cute! The girls had a lot of fun eating - um- decorating the house with the candy!
We don't need the spray on snow to make our windows look frosty! It just has to be -45! (that's with wind... it's only around -28 or so) lol
It's time to decorate sugar cookies! Such as it was. Mom did all the cookies but 2, and those two cookies, done by the girls, well, let's just say there wasn't a lot of cookie left, and the bowl of icing was almost gone! (it was a small bowl) Needless to say, about 10 minutes after all was said and done, Karissa was complaining of a tummy ache!
Alright, I know, the pics are out of order, but what do you do? Joel and the girls did a great job of finishing off the house.
Such concentration.
She looks so focussed! She actually did really well! Only a few candies went in her mouth... :)

Well, we will definitely miss being in BC for Christmas, but are also looking forward to our white Christmas!! (yes, the forecast says it's supposed to snow on Christmas day!) I'm sure there will be lots more to come... but in case I don't... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Kid's Christmas Program

On Sunday the kids in our Sunday School did their Christmas program. It was early, but we had no choice! They did a fantastic job! Karissa was supposed to be an angel in the nativity. They got her all dressed up and she was quite excited to be an angel. And as you can see, she looked really cute! (That's her friend Jana next to her) Well, she walked up with the kids, but as soon as she was supposed to go up the stairs to the stage, she freaked right out! She started crying, "Mommy!" and so she came back to sit with me for the rest of the time :) It was pretty funny.
This is the nativity scene. Kids are so great!
Every year there is a mens "choir". All the men in the church go to the front and sing "Go Tell it on the Mountain". It sounds really good!
These are all the kids in Sunday School, minus the little kids.
Our high school kids did a Christmas version of Family Feud - Ficticious Christmas Characters versus Biblical Characters. It turned out really well!
Little poser :) This was from her goody bag. The kids all got them - and they were chocked full of candy!
Chloe is fascinated by the Christmas tree at church...
Karissa's divin' in to the goods! This is our friend Leona Reimer. She's a really good friend of ours and Karissa adores her :)

Decorating the tree and stuff...

On Saturday we put up our Christmas tree. We thought it would be fun because it snowed outside! The girls had fun helping this year. We haven't put a lot of decorations on the tree, because otherwise it will just be too stressful! So far they've been really good, though. They just love all the lights!Chloe got to put the star on top this year with Daddy. She was pretty excited to do that!

The girls liked taking everything out of the box and seeing what it was more than anything!
This one's kinda blurry, but what can you do? I think we have a better one somewhere...
Such a big girl! She had to do it all by herself :)
In their new Christmas jammies! They were pretty excited about wearing them, and we did a little photo shoot to try and get some cute Christmas pics.
Helping daddy make pizza!
What one does, the other has to do! This one was actually taken first - then Chloe (our little "me too" girl) decided she had to help too!
