Spring? Yeah.... I was dreaming...

Karissa's first snow angel! Dad helped her make one when we got back from one of our walks the other day... too cute! We've had so much snow fall in the last few days - it's ridiculous. I guess spring is just a dream for now...

Karissa and her friend Kaylana, who is almost 6 months old. We took these girls on a walk - thought we'd see how Karissa would do with someone on her lap! She loved the ride - and Kaylana loved it so much she fell asleep! (sorry - I forgot to rotate the pic before I put it on - and I've already done this one twice - so don't feel like going back to do it again! Wish I was more computer literate...)
Where is this - you ask? In a parking lot in Caronport... Every winter when it gets cold enough they set up the boards and flood the lot - there are always people playing hockey or just skating on it. Unfortunately every winter we've been here that's it's been up I've been pregnant - so I haven't been able to skate! :(
Finally, the picture you've all been waiting for... now that I look at it, it looks kinda funny - but hey, what do you do? Yeah, the belly button has popped out (never went back in, really). I'm 7 months, now - 28 weeks for those of you who do it that way - so there's still a ways to go! Only gonna get bigger! :( groan...!

Spring is just around the corner! (we hope...)

The last two days have been absolutely gorgeous! We've been outside both days and today we went to the park! Karissa loves swinging on the swings - it's her favourite passtime and she'd do it all day if we let her!

We're not exactly sure what this is... a cow perhaps? Only in the praries, hey? She really loved being on this - whatever you call it :) Now that she's bigger she can enjoy everything so much more! Can't wait till she's running around!

Who says girls don't play rough?

Karissa has figured out that Dad's a jungle gym! He just has to be laying on the floor and this is what happens! Just wait till she gets bigger, Dad!
Don't have picture evidence, just got it on video, but Karissa did take her first steps about 2 weeks ago now! (for those of you who we didn't talk to and rave all fanatically about it...) She still hasn't braved a lot by herself, but I'm sure she'll get there soon enough. She has really tiny feet still, and her head's in the 90th percentile, so we figure she's kinda top heavy :) Poor kid! Hope she evens out soon!
Cute story: this has happened a couple of times... she has a little music box on the side of her crib that can have a mobile attached to it as well. It turns on with buttons that she loves to press to let us know she's awake and ready to go. Well, lately, she's been pushing the on button and laying down and going back to sleep! It's the cutest thing ever! What a kid...

My Favourite Pastimes...

Karissa figured out how to climb into her chair! She loves to sit in it and just "chill". Getting out is sometimes an adventure - it's kind of funny actually - she looks like a little old lady sometimes!
Guess who discovered drawers this week?! Needless to say I had to do a little bit of rearranging in the kitchen... it's amazing what they pull out - you don't even know what's in the drawer until they find it! Watch out!

This is the best one... the clothes drawers. I was dreading the day that happened... oh well, I'd rather put clothes away then keep cleaning out the cat's water dish. Oh yeah, Karissa's other favourite thing to do... put the cat's food into the water dish... at least we've moved on from trying to eat it! (or so we think...)

A Day in the Life...

On Febrary 2nd, Karissa climbed up the stairs for the first time! We practiced once with me showing her what to do, and now she wants to do it all the time... how do you teach someone to go down the stairs is my question?
Playing with her friend Liam. We were at a potluck with some of our care group friends and these two were sitting on the floor playing so nice!
Karissa loves to tell stories... She'll usually take all of her books out of the basket and then proceed to tell me what they're about. She also entertains herself for awhile that way. It's really cute...
Our lives really aren't that exciting right now... there isn't a lot going on. It's too cold to go outside and do anything - minus 30 will keep you inside for sure. I keep meaning to get Joel to take a prego pic of me so I can post it, but always forget - or just don't feel very "picturish" when I think about it. One of these days! We hope you are all doing great!
