Weekend Visit

This weekend Joel's parents came for a quick visit to celebrate a belated birthday! It was a short but sweet visit. We crammed a lot into the weekend... shopped for Chloe's birthday gift (and some other shopping too!), put the present together, played Kanasta (sp?) and the girls got KILLED by the guys... had a fire and roasted marshmallows, celebrated Father's Day, pushed a friend's car out of the mud (well, just Joel did that) and then drove back to Regina to drop the Luypens at the airport! Whew! Karissa does not let go of Oma's purse when she comes to visit... good thing Oma got some new ones this time so she could empty this one and not have to worry about the girls going through it!
Little cutie :)
Putting together the present for Chloe - I forgot to get a picture of the whole thing, but it has a little basketball hoop, a soccer net and a slide.
We picked up some cupcakes from a bakery and sang happy birthday to Chloe...
then she stuffed her face!
Mmmmmmm... good cupcake!!

What a great weekend - thanks for coming you guys!

Father's Day - 2009

This year was great because Oma and Opa had come out for the weekend - and we got to celebrate Father's Day with them! We opened presents and cards in the morning before we headed in to Moose Jaw for breakfast (more like brunch) and Smitty's. It was a great morning! The girls had to help open all the presents. They were so excited to!
This was the picture that was on both grandpa's cards...
And both of these pics were inside the cards - I took them awhile ago, but didn't want to post them because I wanted them to be a surprise for the dads!

(the pics were cropped to delete the little head at the bottom of each picture - always someone in the way! oh well, they were still cute :) )

A Day at the Park

Yesterday I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and take the girls to Crescent Park while we were in Moose Jaw. They had a lot of fun, because we don't often go there!Crazy drivers!

Karissa mastered this little climbing wall! She didn't any help at all from me - it was so cool to watch her figure out which foot to put where.
Karissa was convinced that the duck was going to come to her. Maybe if we would have had some bread it would have...
The girls were so excited to just sit and watch the ducks. They thought they were so cool! Hopefully there will be some baby ducks soon so the girls can see them...
